    African Violet

    African violets (Saintpaulia ionantha) have rounded leaves that are covered with fine hairs on all surfaces, making them fuzzy to the touch. The leaves create a rosette of foliage over time that forms small flowers in the summer, which can be pink, purple, white, and beyond, says Bunting. Some of the flowers may also have a ruffled edge.
